Mineo repeats YWBA success



YOUNGSTOWN -- Sue Mineo repeated as champion of the Youngstown Women's Bowling Association's Masters Scratch Singles Tournament.
During the stepladder finals of the 3rd annual Masters Scratch Singles event, Mineo defeated four other bowlers: Erin Fairchild, 222-215; Paula Pecorelli, 269-193; Marla Chicase, 267-226; and Teri Haefke, 214-169.
Mineo received $500. She also won the event in 2004.
Total pinfall of those advancing to the semifinals after a six-game block were: DeCinda Taylor (1,333); Mineo (1,325); Annie Bartoletti (1,288); Chicase (1,280); Haefke (1,262); Fairchild (1,176); Fran Miller (1,168); and Pecorelli (1,151).
Helminiak rolls 832
Chip Helminiak had 300-832 in Shooting Gallery at Holiday and Francis Zitnik had 814 in Kelley-Robb Funeral Home Classic at Bell-Wick on Nov. 10. Zitnik's opening game was a 300, followed by 246 and 268.
Theresa Florjancic had 300-782 in L & amp;M Mixed at Holiday on Oct. 31 and Augie Bukovi was perfect in Max Belchyk/Dr. Ferkula Classic at Holiday on Nov. 3. Bukovi's 300 came on lane 25.
Brian Kosmo's first 300 game came while bowling for C.W.V. 1292 Post in Kernan Insurance Classic at West Side on Nov. 7.
Haefke's 707 topped women in Lucianno's Restaurant Mixed at Wedgewood on Oct. 29 when Nick Evans fired 300 and Bob Ozias had 11-in-a-row 290.
On Nov. 2, Steve Pecorelli had 300 in UAW 1112-Lucianno's Restaurant Men, also at Wedgewood.
Seventy-three-year-old Sam Fisher had 704 in Excalibur/Monday Knights at Camelot on Nov. 7. Fisher's high game was 268.
Cory Tacsik led the Floyd Huzjak Memorial Junior All-Stars at A-Plus with 709.
Billie Fansler's 105 average got a boost when she rolled 171 following games of 127 and 107 in Camelot Queens on Nov. 8.
In Doughton Businessmen at Bell-Wick, Hubbard Greenwood Chevy won first quarter and H.G.C. won the quarter after a three-game roll-off against "Z" team.
