LISBON -- A Columbiana County grand jury handed up indictments earlier this week against two men after police said they broke into a business and got into a fight with a local official.
Joseph O. Thomas, 23, of East Fourth Street, Salem, and Nicholas A. Porrazzo, 21, of Linden Avenue, are charged with aggravated burglary.
Police said the men broke into Office Mate, a second-story business at 409 E. Second St., Salem, about 6:15 a.m. Oct. 26.
Thomas allegedly entered a men's room, from which he was able to get into Office Mate and let in Porrazzo.
County Prosecutor Robert Herron said the men took two laptop computers and other items. When they left the office, they ran into Jeff Hochadel, who has an office in the building. Hochadel is a member of the board of the Quaker Community Fire District and is a former county recorder.
Hochadel escorted the men outside and noticed the Office Mate name on some of the items. Herron then said a "physical alteration" broke out between the men and Hochadel. No major injuries were reported.
