University, faculty reach deal on contract

AKRON (AP) -- The University of Akron and a union representing 650 faculty members have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract after two years of negotiations.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. It still be must be ratified by the school's board of trustees and the Akron chapter of the American Association of University Professors.
If approved, it would be the first negotiated contract for Akron's full-time faculty.
