XSTRUTHERS -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Ronald J. and Nedra Sattler of 474 W. Omar St. was celebrated during a Mass on May 21 at St. Nicholas Church followed by a family dinner at Bruno's in Poland and again on May 22 with an afternoon reception for friends and family at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.
The reception was hosted by the couple's children and their spouses, Vivienne and Steve Kurdziel of Struthers, Jeff and Rhonda Sattler of Boardman, Linda and Tony Messuri of Canfield, Sharon and Gary Conti of Youngstown, and Barney and Mandy Sattler of Suwanee, Ga. The couple also have eight grandchildren.
Mr. Sattler and the former Nedra Vimmerstedt were married May 21, 1955, in St. Patrick Church, Youngstown. She worked as a clerk in the jewelry department of Kmart in Boardman, retiring in 1996. Mr. Sattler, who is a Marine Corps veteran, retired the same year from Parker Hannifin in Youngstown as an assembler.
The couple are members of St. Nicholas Church.
