Susany's blast leads Poland past Mooney

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jenna Susany hit her first home run of the season and finished with two hits and two RBIs as the Poland High softball team defeated Mooney, 7-1, in a regular season game Saturday.
Allyson Kennedy had two hits for the Bulldogs (26-3), who scored six runs in the first three innings. Ashley Conger, Allie Patton and Kari Thompson each added two hits.
Mooney is 18-9.
Boardman 5, Canton GlenOak 4
BOARDMAN -- Emily Hays singled leading off the bottom of the seventh for the Spartans (16-9, 8-5 Federal League). Aamie Amero bunted and the OakGlen shortstop tried to throw out Hays at second and threw the ball into the outfield and Hays raced home to score the winning run.
Ashley DiDomenico (14-7) threw a complete game with nine strikeouts to pick up the win.
Amero also hit a double and Mallory Hay hit a pair of singles for the Spartans.
Keisha Johnson hit a triple and double and drove in three runs for GlenOak (15-15, 4-10).
The Spartans will be home to Fitch Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. with a chance at finishing second in the Federal League standings.
