April 1, 6:30 p.m. Let's Go Timberdoodlin'-No Fooling! The timberdoodle is more often referred to as the woodcock. Join us on our timberdoodle quest. Wear boots. Meet at MetroParks Farm parking lot. Easy rating, 1.5 miles.
April 2, 7:30 p.m. Hiking Ohio, Naturally. Ralph Ramey, retired chief of Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Natural Areas & amp; Preserves, will share images and experiences from his favorite hikes. He has thousands of photographs of plants, animals and geological features of the Ohio landscape. He is the author of three books on hiking in Ohio. Held at Pioneer Pavilion.
April 3, 2 p.m. Walk with Bert. One of Ohio's foremost naturalists, Bert Szabo, leads this hike. Meet at Scholl Recreation Area. Moderate difficulty with hills, 2 miles.
April 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Baby Shower. Will it be a boy, a girl, or twins? Found out as we welcome chicks, calves, lambs, and more. Cake and punch will be served. At MetroParks Farm.

April 10, 2 p.m., Dog Hike. Bring your dog as we explore the East Cohasset Hike/Bike Trail. Dogs must be non-aggressive, under the handler's control, and leashed (6 ft. maximum) at all times; one dog per handler. Meet at Ford Nature Center. Moderate difficulty due to hills, 4 miles.
April 14, 10, 10:45 or 11:30 a.m. Tales for Twos: Mother Earth. Two-year-olds and their parents are invited. There will be a story, a craft, and hands-on exploration of the earth's wonder. Call (330) 740-7107 to register.

April 15, 8:30 to 10 a.m. Breakfast Botany: The Magnolia Family. View springtime highlights in the Gardens on this walk. April 17, 2 p.m., Poetry Hike. Join us as we celebrate National Poetry Month on this hike through Bears Den. We'll use simple writing techniques to compose a poem. You can bring a favorite spring poem to share. Meet at Lower Bears Den parking lot. Moderate difficulty with tricky footing, 2 miles.
April 17, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fellows Riverside Gardens Daffodil Show.
April 17, 1 to 4 p.m. Composting with the Green Team. Adults will learn about composting at this seminar. Call (330) 740-2060 to preregister for the 1 or 3 p.m. session and for fee information. A compost bin is included with fee. A children's program will include making crafts out of recycled materials. All visitors can enjoy wagon tours of the Farm. Held at MetroParks Farm.

April 22, 2 p.m. Earth Day Walk. Naturalist emeritus Bill Whitehouse will discuss Mill Creek Park's history and reminisce about previous Earth Days. Meet at Ford Nature Center. Moderate difficulty, 2 to 3 miles.
April 23, 8 a.m. Bird Walks. Explore the Newport Wetlands. Bring binoculars. Meet at Newport Wetlands parking lot. Easy rating, under 1/2 mile.
April 23, Boy Scout Earth Day Clean Up. Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will spend the morning cleaning out winter's accumulation of litter in the MetroParks. Unit leaders can call (330)740-7107 by April 4 to reserve a work area and time.
April 24, 2 p.m. Woodland Wildflowers of Yellow Creek Park. Adder's tongue, squirrel corn and Dutchman's breeches -- what are we talking about? Spring wildflowers, of course! They won't be out for long, so don't miss this walk. High waterproof boots are a must. Meet at Yellow Creek Park office. Moderate difficulty, 3 miles.
April 26, 7 p.m. Audobon Society-Mahoning Valley. Aimee Pico of Lake Milton Raptor Education Center will bring hawks, falcons, and a turkey vulture. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m.; program begins at 7 p.m. MetroParks Farm.
April 27, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Culinary Garden: Entrees. David Armstrong will teach how to prepare pork tenderloin medallions accompanied by an apple bourbon sauce and Tuscan salmon with sun-dried tomatoes. Call (330) 740-7116 to register. Fee: $32 ($25 For members).
