A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield.
CANFIELD CITY
March 16
Suspicious Bottle: A 20-ounce pop bottle with a liquid inside was found at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road. The bottle was wrapped in athletic tape. Testing determined that the bottle contained water.
March 17
Aggravated burglary: A rear door window was broken out and a residence in the 700 block of Blueberry Hill Drive entered. Four to five figurines and two Nippon plates were stolen.
March 18
Assault: A 19-year-old Struthers male student was arrested for assaulting a 16-year-old Youngstown male student at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.
Suspected heroin: Police seized suspected heroin after parents brought an envelope into the Canfield Police Department for testing . The envelope contained a white powder. The daughter said it was baby powder. Police were having the substance tested.
March 19
Drug arrest: A 24-year-old Niles man was arrested on drug abuse charges of obtaining and possessing and marijuana at the El Patio Motel, 485 W. Main St. . Police found suspected marijuana and two Vicodin, after neighbors at the motel complained of the smell of marijuana coming from the room.
