County commissioners also handled these matters at Thursday's meeting:
Hired James Petuch of Boardman as recycling division director. Petuch will make $55,000 and start work in two weeks. Petuch said he's been involved with recycling since 1982, and he pledged to increase the county's recycling and waste reduction rate to meet the state mandate of 25 percent.
Lauded Harold Moore, interim recycling director, for stepping in and running the division until a permanent replacement was found.
Approved three-year agreements for various political subdivisions to house drop-off containers for recycling. Money for the program comes from the recycling division.
Announced the closing of Raccoon Road between U.S. Route 62 and Mellinger Road, Canfield Township, from March 21 to March 24 for a culvert replacement.
