Deadline for receiving public assistance

YOUNGSTOWN -- March 23 is the deadline for Mahoning Valley adults receiving at least three Social Services benefits to register for a free assistance program.
The Mahoning County Homeless Coalition is staging the help program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30 at the Youngstown Rescue Mission, 2246 Glenwood Ave.
The program is designed to help participants deal with problems involving day care, employment and job training, housing, food stamps, dental and personal hygiene, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, legal issues and physical or mental health.
Registration must be made in person by those who will attend the program. Registrants must have verification of income and address, a picture ID and a Social Security number. Registration can be made at veterans or Social Service officers in Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties.
