It's Round 4 for Aliquippa-Beaver Falls

Aliquippa will get a fourth chance at Beaver Falls, this time with a berth in the PIAA Class AA championship game on the line.
The Quips (24-7), who lost to section rival Beaver Falls once during the regular season and dropped a double overtime decision in the District 7 (WPIAL) championship game, defeated Quaker Valley (27-3) 72-70 in the state quarterfinals Saturday at the A.J. Palumbo Center. Beaver Falls (27-3) got past Jeannette (25-5), 61-56, on the same floor and will meet Aliquippa Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.
Class A
In girls' Class A, Brittany Matta scored 21 points, including the 1,000th of her career, and Laura Grimm added 20 as WPIAL-champion Serra Catholic (27-1) rolled over District 6 winner Bishop Carroll (15-15) 63-49. The Lady Eagles will take on District 10 top seed Kennedy Catholic (24-4), a 60-59 victor over District 9 winner Union-Rimersburg.
The winner of the Serra Catholic-Kennedy Catholic game will face the winner of the Nativity BVM-Marian Catholic matchup for the state title on March 19 at 1 p.m. at the Giant Center in Hershey. Nativity BVM (19-13) earned its berth in the semifinals with a 35-27 win over fellow District 11 foe Cardinal Brennan (25-5), while Marian Catholic, the District 11 champion, won a 53-49 decision over Juniata Valley (25-7), the second place team out of District 6.
Class AAA
In girls' Class AAA, Saint Basil (26-4) followed up its upset of four-time defending PIAA Class AAA-champion Allentown Central Catholic with a 48-32 win over District 2 runner-up Nanticoke (25-4). The District 1 runner-up will meet champion Villa Maria (26-2), which squeaked past previously undefeated District 2 top seed North Pocono (28-1), 34-32.
District 10 champion Mercyhurt Prep (27-3) eked out a one-point win over WPIAL winner Moon Area (23-7), 27-26. Mercyhurst Prep will play District 6 champion Lewistown (28-2), a 66-42 victor over District 2 third-place team Scranton Prep (24-7).
