ANNUAL EVENT Chili cook-off serves as fund-raiser

The public is invited to watch as the area's best chili cooks stir it up.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A chili cook-off from 1 to 5 p.m. March 20 at Nancy's Place, 3650 Shady Run Road, will pit 22 of the area's best professional and amateur chili cooks against each other to raise funds for VanSickle Foundation for "R" Kids.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or from board members. Spectators may sample the different chilis; salad, bread and soft drinks will be available.
The annual event also includes raffles, entertainment and martial arts demonstrations by Chuck Murzda's Masters Martial Arts Academy and Bundy's Free Style Karate.
This year's participants include The Fireplace, Rachel's Restaurant, Nancy's Place, Mocha House, Mary Scacchetti of Scacchetti's, Upstairs Restaurant, Sam Naples, Bob VanSickle of VanSickle Corp., Judy Diebel, Michelle Moreno, Carrington South, Stephanie's Pasta Bowl, The Finish Line and The Boathouse Restaurant. The purpose
The VanSickle Foundation helps those children in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties with special needs for medical assistance when all other avenues of funding have been exhausted. To request funding, write to The VanSickle Foundation, P.O. Box 6022, Youngstown, OH 44501.
