Poland man wins $33Kin Ohio Lottery game
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Poland man will receive a third of a jackpot in an Ohio Lottery online game. Cyril Bradick matched five numbers, winning $33,334 of the March 7 $100,000 Rolling Cash 5 jackpot.
After mandatory federal and state tax withholdings totaling 28.5 percent, Bradick will receive a lump sum of $23,833. He used the auto lotto feature. The winning numbers were 2-5-11-15-19.
Bradick bought the winning ticket at Stop N Go, 1008 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers. Stop N Go receives a $500 agent bonus for selling a winning ticket.
Michael R. Warwick of Canton was first to claim one of the three winning tickets sold in the drawing. The holder of the other ticket, purchased in Lima, has not claimed the prize.
Children Servicesto get new address
YOUNGSTOWN -- The April 12 meeting of the Mahoning County Children Services Board will be in its new home on West Federal Street. The board will move into its $7 million facility adjacent to the George V. Voinovich Government Center on April 1, said Denise Stewart, CSB executive director.
An open house is planned for April 28.
H.H. Pincham Moving Co. of Youngstown will handle the move from the South Side Annex, 2801 Market St.
At its meeting earlier this week, the board also announced it will have its Foster Parents Month appreciation dinner in May at the Elm Tree banquet hall in Struthers.
The board also recognized these CSB employees for 15 to 30 years of service: Lynette Brown, John Jemison, Kathleen Thomas and Alice Deatherage.
Cultural celebration
CHAMPION -- Warren Urban Minority Alcohol and Drug Abuse Outreach program will present a cultural celebration, "Black Diamonds Revealed: Inspirations from our Hidden History."
The program will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Kent State University Trumbull Campus, lecture hall A, 4314 Mahoning Ave.
The program will feature children and poems, dancing, stories and singing.
Bristol planning panel
BRISTOLVILLE -- The Bristol school district's financial planning and supervision commission will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the middle school media center, 1845 Greenville Road.
Mathews' meeting date
VIENNA -- The Mathews Local school board has changed its regular meeting date from Wednesday to March 23, starting with an executive session at 6 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7.
The board offices are at 4434-B Warren-Sharon Road.
Cemetery fees go up
POLAND -- Township trustees have increased cemetery fees for the first time in four years.
The fees to buy a grave plot and the fees to open and close a grave both increased from $350 to $450. Fees for cremation increased from $150 to $250. The trustees also voted to increase the overtime or weekend fees for burial from $450 to $600 and for cremation from $250 to $300, township administrator Jim Scharville said.
Trustees also approved the purchase of a new John Deere mowing tractor.
In other business at their recent meeting, the trustees rejected three requests to rezone land at Western Reserve and North Lima roads from estate to Town 1 (small retail). The requests involved four parcels of land totaling about three acres, Scharville said.
