Officials proclaim Trumbull Co. 4-H Week
WARREN -- There was a lot o' green adorning the Trumbull County commissioners' hearing room this week, but it's not in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day.
The commissioners proclaimed March 6-12 as Trumbull County 4-H Week.
On Wednesday, they heard several 4-H youths speak about the impact the program has had on changing their lives. Self-confidence was a key attribute the young speakers cited.
The green came in the form of the 4-H cloverleaf banner, carnations and of course green-iced cookies. Board chairman Daniel Polivka read the proclamation to the youths, their parents and 4-H organizers.
Their resolution urges all citizens of the county to support the efforts of these young people, and the volunteers who dedicate their time in working with them.
The Trumbull County 4-H program has 596 members who participated in 46 clubs, with 169 volunteers.
