Annual appreciation luncheon planned by Salvation Army to honor volunteers

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Salvation Army will honor its volunteers during the annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at noon Tuesday.
The luncheon will be held at the Salvation Army's South Side location, 1501 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown.
The event will recognize approximately 200 local volunteers who serve with the Salvation Army's many programs. Volunteers assist with the youth program, social service committee, Christmas gift distribution and bell ringing, Steps 2 Success program, advisory board, women's auxiliary and in many other ways throughout the year.
The guest speaker will be Tom Chmura, Salvation Army representative for Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
