March 5
Theft: Police arrested a 52-year-old Boardman woman after someone took a bag of snack foods and a bottle of vinegar from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Domestic violence: A 31-year-old man was arrested at his home in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court and charged with domestic violence after a family member reported being a victim.
Burglary: A woman realized her purse was stolen after someone entered her residence in the 4200 block of Oak Knoll Drive through an unlocked rear door.
Assault/criminal damaging: A Boardman man reported a woman's car he was driving had its rear window broken, resulting in $500 in damage, and that he was punched while in the Steak 'n' Shake parking lot, 6786 Applewood Blvd.
Thefts: A woman in the 100 block of Shields Road noticed the front license plate stolen off her car and that two pieces of mail were removed from her mailbox.
Theft: An employee at Petsmart, 1101 Doral Drive, reported her wallet containing $50 was removed from a break room.
Theft: A woman reported the theft of a $350 money order from her home in the 100 block of Shields Road.
Burglary: A man reported someone broke into his residence in the 3900 block of Hopkins Road, causing a total of $1,000 in damage to a rear door jamb and a metal fence gate. It appeared nothing had been stolen.
March 6
Burglary: A woman in the 1600 block of Palo Verde Drive discovered someone had entered her home through a rear garage door. A $4,000 diamond ring, two 3/4-karat gold rings and a 2-karat tennis bracelet were stolen, for a loss of $10,500.
Theft: A woman told police 120 Xanex tablets were stolen from her residence in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive.
Auto theft: A man reported his 1991 Chevrolet Caprice stolen from his apartment complex in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: A Boardman woman told police someone punched her vehicle in an attempt to harm her son while they were traveling near U.S. Route 224 and Pheasant Drive.
Burglary: A man in the 4200 block of Oak Knoll Drive discovered a pair of binoculars, a jacket, $40 in cash and a checkbook missing after someone broke into his home.
Theft: A North Lima woman left Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, and noticed the temporary license plate had been removed from her car.
March 7
Theft: Officers apprehended a Youngstown man, 29, after he was accused of taking $175.56 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Assault: An employee at Youngstown Sports Bar & amp; Grill, 277 Boardman-Canfield Road, called police after two people had been assaulted. A Niles man had a large cut as well as swelling over his left eye, and officers arrested a 24-year-old Salem man.
Theft: A 49-year-old Youngstown man was arrested after being accused of stealing a $216 cologne gift pack from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Arson: A woman in the 700 block of Forest Ridge Drive reported an undetermined amount of fire damage was done to the interior of the residence.
Identity fraud: A Boardman man reported his identity had been fraudulently used at Spartan Chevrolet, 7870 Market St.
Theft: A Boardman woman reported the rear license plate stolen off her car while she was at the Southern Park Mall or at the Shops at Boardman Park.
Assault: A Poland woman told police her daughter was assaulted while at Wendy's, 433 Boardman-Poland Road. The girl had a bruise on her right wrist.
Theft: A worker at Radio Shack, 7385 Market St., reported 11 handheld scanners stolen from the business. The theft came to about $1,320.
Auto theft/recovered property: A Lemans Drive woman reported her 1999 Pontiac Sunfire stolen after someone removed the car keys from her room at the Travelers Inn, 6110 Market St. The vehicle was later recovered.
Theft: Police were called to Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, after five packs of cigarettes were stolen and someone tried to steal a woman's purse in the same incident.
Theft: An employee at Boardman Nissan, 7809 Market St., discovered someone removed a compact-disc player from a vehicle.
Attempted theft/criminal damaging: A North Lima man came out of the Southern Park Mall and discovered damage to his car's passenger-side door tumbler and its center console after someone tried to take a $150 CD player.
March 8
Criminal mischief: An employee at Humility of Mary Health Partners Outpatient Behavioral Health, 970 Windham Court, noticed two rear doors had been tampered with and that a key was probably broken inside each of the doorknobs.
Theft: An employee at Battista Stone, 8252 Market St., reported the theft of a $50 banner.
Criminal damaging/theft: An employee at Sweeney Chevrolet, 7870 Market St., discovered a vehicle's dashboard and rear sliding-window latch damaged, as well as an in-dash stereo stolen. Damage to the car was estimated at $550.
Theft: A man reported a $70 and a .22-caliber handgun stolen from his residence in the 4500 block of Simon Road.
Theft: A Poland woman noticed her change purse missing while she was near the Southern Park Mall's food court area.

Arrest: A 20-year-old Youngstown woman faced charges of assault and criminal mischief after a Lowellville man told police he was injured and that his vehicle's interior sustained minor damage during an argument with another motorist near Market Street and Woodrow Drive. The victim had minor burns on his left hand, forehead and right leg after reporting the driver threw coffee at his car.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Canfield man reported his 1988 Olds Cutlass Ciera was driven without permission from a residence in the 20 block of Shadyside Drive.
Theft: Police arrested two 15-year-old Youngstown boys after a $10 CD was stolen from Wal-Mart.
Breaking and entering: Police responded to an alarm at All American Comics & amp; Cards, 1295 Boardman-Canfield Road, and saw that someone had pried open a rear door to gain entry. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Identity fraud: A woman reported being a victim from her residence in the 5500 block of Loretta Drive. No other information was available.
Criminal damaging: A man noticed two tires on his truck had been flattened at his residence in the 7200 block of Claybourne Drive.
Identity fraud: A man in the 5000 block of Tippwood Court was tricked out of $3,200.
Identity theft: A man in the 5900 block of Applecrest Drive told officers his identity had been fraudulently used to try to open a credit-card account.
Theft: A worker at Radio Shack, 7385 Market St., reported a $149 palm pilot stolen.
Theft/vandalism: An Austintown man discovered a furnace, a water heater, a washer and dryer and the electrical system damaged at an apartment in the 7000 block of Paxton Road. Various items were taken, and damage came to more than $5,000.
Assault: A woman in the 1100 block of Red Tail Hawk Drive alleged her former boyfriend forcibly entered her home through a side garage door and assaulted her. The woman suffered a bloody nose as well as swelling on her upper lip.
Arrest: Police apprehended a Youngstown woman, 43, and charged her with one count of illegal processing of drug documents, a felony. An employee at The Medicine Shoppe, 6241 Market St., reported receiving a forged prescription for OxyContin tablets to be filled.
Arrest: Police picked up a Youngstown man near Hillman Street and Mistletoe Drive. He was wanted on a warrant from Campbell charging him with criminal damaging; the suspect also faced a charge of possession of drugs after officers say he was in possession of a controlled substance.
