JANITORIAL SUPPLIES Trumbull County government low on paper -- toilet paper
WARREN -- There's a paper shortage in Trumbull County government of the most critical kind.
The county prosecutor's office and county commissioners say it's an emergency that requires quick corrective action today.
"Obviously we are talking about an emergency here, if we run out of toilet paper," Jason Earnhart, an assistant prosecutor, told commissioners during their Tuesday work session.
The commissioners are expected to accept a letter today from Unisource Worldwide Inc. of Independence, Ohio, notifying them the company can no longer fulfill the contract awarded on Oct. 6, 2004, to furnish janitorial supplies.
Tony Carson, county administrator, said there were problems with deliveries and amounts of product being provided.
Commissioners planned to award the janitorial supply contract to the second-lowest and best bidder, W.J. Service, 2592 Elm Road N.E., for the remainder of the six-month contract period, with an option for renewal for another six months.
The bid amount was $20,716.
