Hy-Tek official to speakat YSU breakfast series
YOUNGSTOWN -- Samuel Grooms, president of Hy-Tek Material Handling Inc., will be featured at a breakfast as part of Youngstown State University's Williamson Symposium speaker series at 7:30 a.m. March 23 at The Butler Institute of American Art.
This "executive on campus" program of the Williamson College of Business Administration is designed to bring nationally and internationally recognized business leaders to YSU.
Hy-Tek, located in Columbus, has been the premier source of material handling information, engineering, products, parts and services since 1963, according to the college of business administration.
Grooms, a 1981 YSU graduate, and his team have grown Hy-Tek revenues from $3.5 million to more than $50 million a year.

Lewis gets bankers post
COLUMBUS -- Steve Lewis, president and chief executive officer of First Place Bank, Warren, has been elected to a two-year term on the board of directors of the Ohio Bankers League. Lewis' term ends Dec. 31, 2006.
Blair Hillyer, president and CEO of the First National Bank of Dennison, is chairman of the Columbus-based OBL.
The OBL is composed of bank executives from across the state and elected by OBL member financial institutions. The OBL provides professional education, collective buying, communications and governmental services to its members.
Chamber to meet March 22
LIBERTY -- The Regional Chamber's Annual Business Meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. March 22 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.
A luncheon will begin at noon, during which the chamber will honor several business people, including:
Donald Cagigas, former Bank One regional president, who will get the Spirit of the Chamber Award.
William G. Lyden Jr. of Lyden Oil, who will get the Spirit of the Valley Award.
State Rep. Chuck Blasdel of East Liverpool, R-1st, speaker pro tempore of the Ohio House of Representatives, who will get the Chairman's Political Achievement Award.
Keynote speaker will be Mike Vance, chairman of Creative Thinking Association of America.

Business offers Turbo Tax
YOUNGSTOWN -- Home Savings is making the online tax preparation service, TurboTax for the Web, available on its Web site at www.homesavings.com.
The TurboTax for the Web service, from Intuit Inc., is a way to prepare both federal and state income taxes. Customers can use TurboTax for the Web to electronically file their return and get their refund back (if applicable) in as little as 10 days with direct deposit.
For tax year 2004, customers can start calculating their taxes immediately, because there's no user name and password to enter until customers are ready to file or print a return.
