FREMONT -- Department of Ohio, Army & amp; Navy Union 87, held its encampment June 12 in Fremont.
During the event, Foster Cowles of Niles, past national and department president, was honored as Man of the Year and Barbara Sanderson of Canton, past national and department auxiliary president, was named Woman of the Year.
New officers elected include Patricia Cochran of Canton, Auxiliary 1998, as president; Darline Sterling of Canton, Auxiliary 150, senior vice president; Mary Jones of Canton, Auxiliary 150, junior vice president; Nancy Reed of Stow, Auxiliary 1998, secretary; Doreen Kasesak of Niles, Auxiliary 252, treasurer; Carolyn Murphy of Youngstown, Auxiliary 29, field marshal; and Jackie Baun of Youngstown, also of Auxiliary 29, vocalist. Corrine Walser of Canton, Auxiliary 150, is past president.

The national convention is set for Aug. 24 in Sandusky.
