KRISTIN RIZERJOHN GOCALA JR.
XYOUNGSTOWN -- St. Matthias Church was the setting May 7 as Monsignor Peter Polando officiated for the marriage of Kristin L. Rizer of Canfield, daughter of Larry and Jackie Rizer of Canfield, and John J. Gocala Jr. of Boardman, son of John and Joan Gocala Sr. of Poland.
Before leaving on a wedding trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple received congratulations during a reception at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.
Wearing an off-white strapless gown trimmed in sequins and lace, the bride was attended by her sisters, Erin and Lea Rizer, as honor attendants, and the bridesmaids were Michelle Finn, her cousin; Mary Jo McIntyre, the groom's sister; and Sabrina Eaton, Michele Cartwright, Kelly Hardie, Mindy Guyan, Kristin Provenzale and Jennifer Hellman. They were wearing black dresses. Sophia Schuler was flower girl.
Nick Blanch and Tony DiPiero were best men, and groomsmen were Scott McIntyre, the groom's brother-in-law; Larry Rizer, the bride's brother; and Ben Kovalchik. Ring bearer was the groom's nephew, Aiden McIntyre.
The couple are living in Boardman.
Mrs. Gocala is a staff accountant with Stoneridge Inc., in Warren after graduating from Youngstown State University with her bachelor's degree in accounting.
Her husband, who also received a bachelor's in accounting from YSU, is a police officer with Boardman Township Police Department.
