A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland Village and Boardman Township:
POLAND
June 12
Arrest: After police conducted a registration check on a vehicle near U.S. Route 224 and state Route 170, they arrested a Struthers man, 49, on Route 170 and turned him over to Columbiana County authorities. He was wanted on a warrant from that county charging him with failure to appear in court on a count of failure to pay child support.
BOARDMAN
June 8
Criminal damaging: A man discovered his vehicle's rear window damaged at his home in the 700 block of Cranberry Creek Drive.
Vandalism: A man in the 700 block of Canterbury Lane found his car's windshield damaged.
Theft: A customer left a Get Go station, 6911 South Ave., without paying for gasoline.
Theft: A woman reported the theft of her cell phone while she was at the Southern Park Mall.
Assault: A man told police he was assaulted while in the Blue Wolf Tavern parking lot, 1298 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Drugs: Officers arrested a man, 49, and a woman, 33, after they say the two were growing suspected marijuana plants in their Lealand Avenue residence. Charges against both were cultivating marijuana, a felony, and permitting drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
Assault: A 16-year-old Salem girl was charged with assault after police say she engaged in a fight at Cinemark Movies 8, 469 Boardman-Poland Road.
Arrest: Police arrested a 27-year-old Leetonia man on two felony warrants from Boardman charging him with criminal simulation and passing bad checks.
Drugs: A man, 26, faced charges of cultivating marijuana, permitting drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say he had suspected marijuana plants growing in his Boardman home.
Arrest: A 19-year-old Boardman man was picked up on an outstanding warrant charging him with domestic violence.
Stolen property: After pulling over a vehicle, police arrested a 50-year-old Youngstown man and charged him with one felony count of receiving stolen property. Officers say he was driving a car that had been reported stolen by Enterprise Rent-a-Car after he failed to return it.
June 9
Theft/forgery: A woman discovered her checkbook stolen and that a check was presented at Charter One Bank, 955 Boardman-Poland Road.
Assault: A man told police he and a friend were assaulted while they left Sparkle Market, 6315 Market St.
Theft: A worker at Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported a theft of merchandise.
Arrest: After a traffic stop near South Avenue and Cedar Way, a 27-year-old Youngstown man was charged with two counts of obstructing official business. He also was wanted on two warrants charging him with failure to appear.
Theft: Police arrested a 48-year-old Poland man on a theft charge after three packs of cigars were taken from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Arrest: After stopping his vehicle near Southern Boulevard and Meadowbrook Avenue, officers arrested a 16-year-old Boardman boy. He was charged with underage possession of alcohol and underage possession of fireworks.
June 10
Breaking and entering: Someone broke a front-door window and stole medications from Kids 'n' Cures pharmacy, 1419 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: An employee at Zidian Real Estate, 6714 Market St., noticed a wooden fence was damaged.
Assault: A man reported being assaulted while at Gateways to Better Living Inc., 4665 South Ave.
Auto theft: A man reported his 1980 Olds Cutlass stolen while he was at Midas Auto Service Experts, 5938 Market St.
Theft/criminal damaging: A man in the 7000 block of West Boulevard reported his car was broken into. Stolen were an in-dash compact-disc player and 30 CDs.
Assault: A woman reported being assaulted at a residence in the 800 block of Indianola Road.
Criminal damaging: A woman noticed damage had been done to her home in the 6700 block of Applewood Boulevard.
Theft: A woman reported shopping bags containing $36 worth of merchandise were removed from her shopping cart while she was at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Felonious assault: Police were investigating an assault that occurred at Buffalo Wild Wings in the Southern Park Mall. No other information was available.
Attempted theft: Officers responded to an alarm at Agnew Farm Equipment, 7700 Market St., and learned that someone had tampered with some anti-theft devices used to secure several pieces of machinery.
Theft: A 45-year-old Youngstown woman was charged with theft after being accused of stealing miscellaneous clothing from Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road.
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle near Market Street and Ferncliff Avenue, officers apprehended a Boardman man, 28. He was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing official business after police say he provided false information and fled on foot.
Felonious assault: Officers arrested a 44-year-old man at his Ridgewood Drive residence on one count of felonious assault. A Boardman woman alleged that, during an argument, her boyfriend cut her throat with a knife.
June 11
Theft: Someone pumped more than 12 gallons of gasoline and left a Sunoco station, 5721 Market St., without paying.
Theft: A woman told police her son's bicycle was stolen from their apartment in the 100 block of Shields Road.
Identity theft: A man reported his prescription card was fraudulently used at Brown's Drug Store & amp; Gift Shop, 5106 Southern Blvd.
Criminal damaging: A woman reported someone used a sharp object to damage her car at her Prestwick Drive home.
Assault: A woman reported being a victim while at a residence in the 4800 block of Brookwood Road.
Vandalism: A man in the 4100 block of Hillman Way discovered his car's rear passenger-side window was broken.
Vandalism: A man called police after someone tossed a rock through a front living room window at his home in the 4000 block of Traymore Drive.
Arrest: A 29-year-old Youngstown woman was arrested at Marc's, 7121 Tiffany Blvd., on charges of obstructing official business and public intoxication.
Arrest: Police picked up a Poland man, 64, at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, and charged him with criminal trespass after saying he had been warned to stay off the store's property.
Arrest: During an investigation, Boardman police arrested a 20-year-old Youngstown man and charged him with obstructing official business. He also was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on the original charge of driving without a valid license.
June 12
Theft/criminal damaging: A woman in the 200 block of Erskine Avenue discovered her car had been broken into and its dashboard cover damaged. Stolen from the vehicle were a CD player, an amplifier and two speakers.
Burglary: A woman discovered her apartment in the 7400 block of West Boulevard was broken into.
Theft: A woman reported an air-conditioning unit stolen from her garage in the 7600 block of Hitchcock Road.
Arrests: After police saw a group of juveniles breaking into a car with the intention of stealing it, they arrested four Youngstown boys, 13 to 16. Charges were attempted theft and possession of criminal tools, both felonies, as well as one misdemeanor count each of criminal damaging. Three of the boys also faced a charge of resisting arrest.
Theft: A Warren girl, 13, and a Youngstown girl, 17, faced theft-by-deception charges after being accused of taking clothing from Wal-Mart.
Arrest: A 20-year-old Boardman man was picked up on a felony warrant from Trumbull County charging him with probation violation.
Theft: An 18-year-old Youngstown man was charged with theft after a theft of gasoline at a Get Go station.
Arrest: A Poland man, 18, was arrested on a criminal-trespass charge after police received a call regarding an unwanted person at a Boardman residence.
Theft: An 18-year-old Youngstown woman faced a theft charge. She was accused of stealing jewelry from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Arrest: Officers picked up a 19-year-old man at his South Avenue residence on charges of attempted felonious assault and criminal damaging. Police say the man's father signed two warrants against him referring to an earlier domestic-violence situation.
