A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman Township:
POLAND
July 21
Fraud: A Massachusetts Avenue man told police he and a group of teachers were scammed of nearly $4,300 from a New Port Richey, Fla., company.
BOARDMAN
July 19
Theft: A man in the 600 block of Cook Avenue discovered a 20-inch, six-speed bicycle stolen.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into First Covenant Church, 5210 Glenwood Ave. It was undetermined if anything was taken.
Theft: A woman staying at Red Roof Inn, 1051 Tiffany Blvd., reported the theft of property from her car.
Theft: Police arrested a 43-year-old Boardman woman on a theft charge after a purse and cologne were stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Bad check: A man in the 800 block of Boardman-Canfield Road reported being issued a check drawn on a closed account.
Burglary: A man in the 5000 block of Hopkins Road found his residence had been broken into.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A woman in the 700 block of Indianola Road reported her car was used without permission.
Theft/criminal damaging: A man reported a company-owned vehicle was damaged and that items were stolen from it while he was at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Theft: A man called police after noticing a bicycle was removed from his residence in the 100 block of Maple Drive.
Burglary: A 12-year-old Youngstown boy was apprehended on a burglary charge. A woman in the 4500 block of Euclid Boulevard told police a boy's bicycle was taken in a burglary attempt. The bicycle, along with two others found abandoned, was recovered.
Burglary: A woman in the 100 block of Lemans Drive found out her apartment had been entered and that items were stolen.
Arrest: Police picked up a Boardman man, 37, on warrants charging him with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Arrest: A 14-year-old Boardman boy faced one count of telecommunications harassment after being accused of making an obscene phone call.
Arrest: After responding to a report of an intoxicated man lying on the ground, officers cited a 31-year-old Boardman man. He was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
Arrest: During an investigation, police took into custody a 16-year-old Boardman boy. He was charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
July 20
Theft: A worker at Sam's Club, 6361 South Ave., said a man concealed merchandise and left without paying.
Auto theft: A woman noticed her vehicle missing from a parking lot near her home in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Theft: A Boardman man told police he never received items that he ordered from the Internet.
Theft: A 37-year-old Youngstown man faced a theft charge after articles of clothing were stolen from Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road.
Robbery: An employee at Dilliard's in the Southern Park Mall reported the store was robbed. No other information was contained in the report.
Theft/criminal damaging: A man in the 4100 block of Lockwood Boulevard discovered his vehicle had been broken into and property removed.
Fraud: A man in the 8100 block of Stadler Avenue told police he was almost scammed during a phone conversation.
Theft: A woman discovered her purse missing from a shopping cart while she was at Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.
Assault: A woman in the 2000 block of Wolosyn Circle told police her boyfriend was assaulted.
Assault/theft: A Lowellville man, 26, was arrested on an assault charge after a fight at Antone's Paninos & amp; Pasta, 720 Boardman-Canfield Road. A restaurant employee told police a former co-worker assaulted her, and that a woman stole the victim's cell phone.
Theft: A man in the 20 block of Indianola Road discovered items missing from his car.
Auto theft: A woman called police after her stepfather's vehicle was stolen from his home in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Breaking and entering: After responding to an alarm at Smoker Friendly, 4605 Market St., and finding a front window broken, police apprehended a 31-year-old Youngstown man on charges of breaking and entering, failure to comply with the orders of a police officer, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, aggravated menacing, vandalism and possession of criminal tools. Officers say he fled in a vehicle and fought with police.
Arrest: Police picked up a Youngstown man, 62, on a felony warrant from Boardman charging him with menacing by stalking.
Arrest: After saying he was a passenger in a car stolen in Girard, officers arrested a Boardman man, 20, after a traffic stop. He was charged with obstructing official business after police say he fled on foot and returned to the scene.
Domestic violence: A 14-year-old Boardman girl was charged with domestic violence after being accused of tossing shelves at a family member during an altercation.
Assault: A 22-year-old Youngstown man faced one count of assault after a Boardman woman reported being punched in the face.
July 21
Burglary: A woman in the 7400 block of West Boulevard discovered her apartment was burglarized.
Auto theft: A woman told police her car was stolen while she was at a Sunoco station, 5721 Market St.
Theft: An employee at Rick Bayus Motors, 5206 Youngstown-Poland Road, reported a dealer plate was never returned.
Theft: Someone took 14 dealer plates from Donnell Ford, 7955 Market St.
Theft: An employee at Gentiva Health Services, 755 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported her purse stolen.
Misuse of a credit card: A man in the 7000 block of West Boulevard discovered his wallet stolen and that a debit card was used without authorization.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue noticed a door lock on his mother's truck damaged.
Criminal mischief/theft: A man told police a home he owns under construction in the 100 block of Overhill Road was entered and damaged. A radio was taken.
Theft: A 33-year-old Alliance man was arrested at Boardman County Court, 127 Boardman-Canfield Road. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with theft.
Domestic violence: A 20-year-old Youngstown man was taken into custody at the Travelers Inn, 6110 Market St., on a domestic-violence charge.
Thefts: A Struthers woman, 44, and a Youngstown woman, 32, were arrested near Overhill Road and Market Street. Each was charged with theft after merchandise was stolen from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, and Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: Two 19-year-old Boardman men were arrested at Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road, and charged with theft. They were accused of taking a road cone belonging to the township road department.
Arrest: A Youngstown man, 19, was arrested on Overhill Road on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to comply with the orders of a police officer. Police say he pulled into a driveway in an attempt to evade them.
Arrests: After pulling over a vehicle near Shields Road and West Boulevard, officers arrested a woman, 22, and a man, 46, both from Youngstown. The man faced charges of receiving stolen property, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia; the woman was wanted on a warrant charging her with credit-card fraud.
July 24
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 100 block of Beechwood Drive found out someone tossed a rock and damaged siding on her garage.
Theft: Police arrested a Boardman man, 35, on a felony theft charge after a woman reported someone stole her purse while she was in the Giant Eagle parking lot, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Auto theft: A woman reported her car stolen from her apartment in the 4200 block of Hillman Way.
Burglary: A Gertrude Avenue man found his residence was broken into.
Theft: A man discovered his wallet missing while he was at the Bull & amp; Bear Tavern, 1247 Boardman-Poland Road.
Drugs: In separate cases, three people were cited on charges of possession of marijuana. They were a Leetonia man, 34, a Youngstown woman, 29, and a Youngstown man, 19.
