American Indian fest to feature food, music

COITSVILLE -- The Red Hawk American Indian Cultural Society will host an American Indian gathering from 10 a.m. to dusk Aug. 20 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at Willow Ranch, South Hubbard Road.
The inter-tribal society's goal is to promote cultural awareness of American Indians in the Mahoning Valley.
The gathering will include 40 to 60 American Indian dancers of varying tribes, music, drumming and singing. Spectators will be able to buy American Indian food and crafts.
Nationally known storyteller Dolores Santha will share stories, while Bird Chopper from the North Carolina Cherokee Reservation will serve as host drummer.
Admission for adults is $4, while seniors and children ages 6 to 12 pay $3. Children age 5 and under are free.
