DURHAM, N.C. -- Monique Currie hit a go-ahead jumper with 41.2 seconds left to help top-ranked Duke rebound from a loss. Currie hit two late free throws for the Blue Devils (19-2, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) and finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Wanisha Smith added 14 points for Duke, winner of 10 straight in the series. Shay Doron scored 16 points to lead the Terrapins (13-5, 3-4). Duke was coming off a 56-51 loss at North Carolina on Monday. Duke went 0-for-9 from 3-point range, ending a 241-game streak of hitting at least one 3-pointer.
No. 5 Tennessee 68, South Carolina 53
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Shyra Ely scored 16 points and Tennessee overcame early struggles to win its 30th straight over South Carolina. The Lady Vols (15-3, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) haven't lost to the Gamecocks since Jimmy Carter was president -- a 56-52 defeat on Jan. 23, 1980 -- and have won by an average of 33.3 points during the streak. The Lady Vols have won their last 39 SEC regular-season games dating to February 2002. Iva Sliskovic had 14 points to lead South Carolina (6-14, 0-6).
No. 12 North Carolina 83, Wake Forest 61
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Erlana Larkins scored 18 points, Ivory Latta had 16 and Camille Little added 13 for the Tar Heels (16-3, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who upset No. 1 Duke earlier in the week. Cotelia Bond-Young led Wake Forest (13-6, 2-4) with 14 points.
No. 19 Georgia 81, Florida 61
ATHENS, Ga. -- Tasha Humphrey scored 21 points and Georgia rallied from an early 10-point deficit. Sherill Baker added 18 points for the Bulldogs (16-5, 4-2 SEC), who earned their third straight SEC win. Bernice Mosby led the Gators (12-7, 3-3) with 25 points and Tamia Williams had 14. Mosby scored her 1,000th point, the 18th Florida player to reach the milestone. She finished with 1,016.
Miami 62, No. 21 Florida St. 57
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Yalonda McCormick had 23 points, including the last four, to lift Miami to its first Atlantic Coast Conference win of the season. Miami ended a five-game losing streak in the series and snapped Florida State's overall five-game winning streak. The victory was the first in the series for ACC newcomer Miami (9-10, 1-5) since the 1988-89 season. Ganiyat Adeduntan had 17 points and Roneeka Hodges 16 to lead Florida State (18-3, 5-2).
No. 23 Vanderbilt 73, Kentucky 67
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Ashley Earley scored 24 points and Carla Thomas added 22 to help Vanderbilt snap a three-game losing streak. Earley had 12 rebounds for Vanderbilt (14-5, 3-3 Southeastern Conference), and Abi Ramsey added 14 points. Freshman center Sarah Elliott had 20 points for Kentucky (13-8, 2-4 SEC), which had its 12-game home winning streak snapped.
Northwestern 59, No. 22 Penn State 48
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Ifeoma Okonkwo scored a game-high 19 points to lead Northwestern (5-16, 2-6 Big Ten), which took a 37-18 lead into the break. In the first half, the Wildcats were 16-of-28 from the field, while the Nittany Lions were just 8-of-29. Sarah Kwasinski added 16 points for Northwestern. Tanisha Wright scored 17 points for Penn State (12-7, 7-1).
No. 24 Temple 72, George Washington 64
PHILADELPHIA -- Cynthia Jordan scored 26 points and Candice Dupree had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Temple to its school-record 13th straight victory. Temple, which entered the Top 25 for the first time in school history Monday, won all 12 of its games during its first season in 1923-24. Kamesha Hairston added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Temple (16-3, 8-0 Atlantic 10). Anna Montanana led the Colonials (12-6, 5-2) with 22 points.
