HORIZON LEAGUE Wright State gets 28 from Wood in win

DAYTON -- DaShaun Wood scored 28 points Wednesday night, including a pair of baskets in a late run that helped Wright State hold on for a 72-61 victory over Illinois-Chicago.
Wood made a jumper and a layup in a seven-point burst that helped Wright State (10-9, 5-3 Horizon) take control down the stretch. Jordan Pleiman added 19 points, going 8-for-8 from the field.
Jovan Stefanov led Illinois-Chicago (9-9, 4-4) with 20 points but couldn't make a shot while the Raiders pulled away.
Wood opened the second half with a 3-pointer and a layup, and Pleiman had a pair of jumpers during an eight-point burst that gave the Raiders a 52-41 lead midway through the half.
After Illinois-Chicago cut the lead to four points, Wood made a jumper and a layup during a seven-point run that rebuilt the lead to 63-52 with 5:25 to go. Illinois-Chicago couldn't get closer than eight points the rest of the way.
Wis.-Green Bay 60, Detroit 54
DETROIT -- Matt Rohde scored 27 points for Wisconsin-Green Bay, which remained alone in second place in the Horizon.
Brandon Cotton scored 12 points to lead Detroit (7-11, 4-4), which lost its third consecutive league game.
Green Bay (13-5, 6-2) hit six of its 11 3-point attempts in the second half to take control of the game and finished 9-for-18 from behind the arc.
