SHOOTINGS Man charged in 3 deaths

Two women and one child were found dead; a suspect was captured.
KENT, Ohio (AP) -- A man suspected of fatally shooting the two people he lived with ran from police to another home where he killed a woman before being arrested Saturday, police said.
James Trimble, 44, was charged with three counts of aggravated murder.
Officers discovered the bodies of Renee L. Bauer, 42, and her 7-year-old son, Dakota Bauer, about 9 p.m. Friday in Trimble's home in neighboring Brimfield Township, police said.
Trimble, wearing camouflage fatigues and carrying an assault-type rifle, was spotted nearby but evaded capture, firing several shots at officers before entering a home and taking a woman hostage, police said.
Hours later, SWAT officers entered the home and found 22-year-old Sarah A. Positano dead and Trimble hiding, police said.
Authorities declined to release any additional details, including how long the suspect held officers at bay.
Victims shot
The victims died of gunshot wounds.
Police declined comment on Trimble's relationship to Renee Bauer. Positano was a Kent State University student from Ontario, Canada, police said.
Katrina Positano, 24, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, said her sister Sarah didn't know Trimble and authorities haven't told the family specifics of what happened.
Positano described her sister as an outgoing person who enjoyed traveling. Sarah Positano liked gymnastics and volunteered as an assistant gymnastics coach at Kent State.
A message seeking comment was left Saturday at the school's gymnastics office.
The Portage County coroner did not return a message requesting comment.
A neighbor, Gerry Horner, said she has known Trimble since 1973 when he moved into the home with his parents. Trimble later enlisted in the military and returned to the area a year or two ago, Horner said.
"He was an outgoing person," she said. "He never met a stranger, and I like Jimmy. He used to come over and visit with us when he was a kid."
Horner said Trimble wasn't married to the woman he lived with. The woman had a son from a previous marriage, Horner said.
