Palmero's three-point shooting leads Ursuline over Kennedy



WARREN -- Carey Palmero made four 3-pointers and finished with 17 points, leading Ursuline High to a 60-42 victory over John F. Kennedy in a Steel Valley Conference boys basketball game Friday night.
Jerome Jones added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Irish (10-2, 3-0 SVC). D'Aundray Brown scored 15 points for Ursuline.
JFK (7-5, 1-2) was led by Marc Rossi, with 12 points, and J.J. Townsend, with 10.
Warren Harding 78, Mooney 47
YOUNGSTOWN -- Warren Harding led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter, then outscored Mooney 20-4 in the second to take control of the Steel Valley Conference game.
Mario Manningham led the Raiders (12-1, 2-1 SVC) with 25 points.
Jaron Howell scored 16 points to pace Mooney (2-11, 0-3).
Canton GlenOak 76, Fitch 45
CANTON -- A 23-10 edge in the second quarter gave Canton GlenOak all the momentum it needed in a Federal League game.
Nigel Taylor scored 15 points; Tyrell Eargle added 11 for the Falcons (8-5, 2-4 Federal League). James Wallace had six rebounds.
Fitch has lost four of its past five games.
Massillon Jackson 41,Boardman 25
BOARDMAN -- Dan Williams scored 16 points for Jackson in a Federal League game.
The Polar Bears (6-6, 1-4) led 18-11 at halftime. Mike Nichols added nine points and Kyle Murphy had eight for Jackson.
Boardman (5-9, 0-5) was led by Andrew Chitolo and Jeff Olenych, who scored six points apiece. Nick Ludban scored five.
