Le Cercle Fran & ccedil;ais announces slate, activities for year
YOUNGSTOWN -- A new slate of officers for Le Cercle Fran & ccedil;ais was elected during the club's Dec. 19 meeting.
Those selected to serve on the executive board are George Gauthier of Garrettsville, president; Jim Dino-poulos of Poland, vice president; Paul Dalbec of Canfield, secretary; Mary Jane Lyden of Boardman, treasurer; and the Rev. Edward Neroda of Youngstown, Bernice Killa of Rogers, Francine Kollay of Twinsburg, Bob Millonig of Garrettsville and Michael Starr of Austintown, trustees.
Upcoming events for the new year include a Mardi Gras celebration in February, an officer recognition dinner in April, a special program on French culture in May, a Bastille Day Celebration in July, a visit to a French restaurant in October and a French Christmas celebration in December.
Other activities will be a French language scholarship contest and an exhibit on French culture at the Canfield Fair.
Club membership is open to anyone interested in the French culture, heritage or language.
