Annual gift-giving luncheon by Links benefits two groups

HOWLAND -- Youngstown Chapter of Links, Inc., held its third annual holiday gift-giving luncheon on Dec. 19 at the Chop House Pavilion.
The event is a benefit for which members gather toys and gifts to donate to organizations that assist underprivileged children.
This year's recipients were The Needle's Eye and A Home for Kids.
Gisele Washington and Margaret Person were co-chairwomen. President is Mary E. Patterson.
Other projects for the year that were aimed at helping children included co-sponsoring a seminar at Youngstown State University, tutoring students in an after-school program at Victory Lutheran Church, providing school supplies to a number of elementary students in Youngstown City School District, participating in the Light Up a Life Celebration at Tod Children's Hospital and adopting a music class at Hayes Middle School to introduce students to classical music.
