YOUNGSTOWN -- A 17-year-old city youth was shot and killed in the Westlake Terrace apartments on Martin Luther King Boulevard Wednesday evening, and two suspects fled the scene, according to a city police report.
Police said Zymond Butler of Magnolia Avenue was visiting his pregnant 20-year-old girlfriend and another woman at an apartment when the two suspects in the killing came to visit and were watching a Britney Spears movie, according to the girlfriend's statement to police.
That is when one of the suspects, a 24-year-old man with braided, medium-length hair shot Butler in the chest and fled with another unidentified man, according to police.
The girlfriend told police she was seven months pregnant with Butler's child and also told police that Butler had been shot at earlier in the day.
An investigation is pending.If ruled a homicide, the killing will be the first in the city of 2005.
