TRUMBULL COUNTY Zone proposal draws no objection

The land is to be reclassified single family residential.
CORTLAND -- No one objected to a proposed zone change for 61 acres to allow construction of 220 single-family homes.
City council held a public hearing on the proposal Tuesday. The zone change request was made by the Walnut Run Land Co., which owns the land. The ordinance would change the zoning from its current service district classification to single family residential.
The land is in the Mathews Local School District and includes four parcels adjacent to Walnut Run Estates development. Each parcel would be served by extending roads from Walnut Run Estates.
The parcels
The four parcels and the roads that will be extended are:
UParcel 1: 6.23 acres, extension of Turnberry Place.
UParcel 2: 9.4 acres, with a new road between lots 55 and 56 on St. Andrews Drive.
UParcel 3: 17.6 acres, extension of St. Andrews, with a new road connecting to Bradley Brownlee.
*Parcel 4: 29.8 acres, extension of Gleneagle Court.
There weren't any objections from the residents who were present regarding rezoning the property.
The council wasn't able to pass the ordinance because of a surveying discrepancy with Parcel 2 lot.
The original survey stated that it was 7.37 acres, but a field survey conducted this month found the property to be 9.4 acres. The council needs the ordinance to be amended and plans to vote on the matter at its meeting Feb. 7.
