Poland rallies in second half for 10th win



NORTH CANTON -- Chad Fender scored 30 points, and Poland High outscored St. Thomas Aquinas 28-20 in the second half, to defeat the Knights, 57-51, Monday in the Hoover/Maytag Classic, hosted by North Canton High School.
Jim Shurilla added 10 points for the Bulldogs (10-1), while Fender and Lou Coppola had seven rebounds apiece.
Cameron Marchese had seven assists to lead Poland, which trailed 31-29 at halftime, but outscored Aquinas (5-6) 13-7 in the third quarter to take the lead.
The Bulldogs shot 51 percent from the floor and a 15-for-15 performance at the foul line helped to ice the game.
Girls
BERLIN -- Boardman High defeated Cleveland Central Catholic, 39-32, while Canfield lost to Regina, 78-33, at the Classic in the Country showcase at Hiland High School.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Brittany Csatlos scored 15 points as Sharon pulled away in the second half to remain unbeaten.
Aryn Christman added 12 points for the Tigers (13-0).
