MAC Broncos remain unbeaten in MAC

BOWLING GREEN -- Levi Rost scored 20 points and Rickey Willis hit two big free throws down the stretch to lead Western Michigan to a 70-61 victory over Bowling Green on Saturday.
Ben Reed added 16 points and Jon Reitz had 12 for the Broncos (12-3, 5-0 MAC).
Willis had just five points -- going 1-for-9 from the field -- but after the Falcons (10-3, 4-1) pulled to 64-61 on John Floyd's layup, Willis hit two free throws with 1:05 remaining.
Josh Almanson scored 18 points for Bowling Green.
Ohio 80, Kent St. 54
ATHENS -- Mychal Green scored 23 points on his 22nd birthday and Ohio University used three big scoring spurts to beat Kent State.
Terren Harbut had 16 points and Jeremy Fears added 15 for the Bobcats (7-6, 2-3 MAC). Leon Williams chipped in with 13 rebounds.
Scott Cutley was the lone Golden Flash in double figures with 11 points. Kent State (10-6, 3-3) shot 33 percent from the field, its worst shooting game of the season.
Cent. Michigan 72, N. Illinois 63
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Kevin Nelson tied a career high with 27 points and Giordan Watson added 15 to lead Central Michigan.
The Chippewas (7-7, 2-4 MAC) held a 33-32 halftime lead despite trailing by as many as 14 points in the first half.
The Huskies led for much of the first half thanks to a 17-3 run. But the Chippewas responded late in the period with a 14-0 run -- capped by a pair of Nelson 3-pointers -- to take the lead.
Northern Illinois (6-8, 2-4) took the lead back early in the second half on a 10-2 run but the Chippewas stepped up their defense and held the Huskies without a field goal for over seven minutes late in the game.
