XCANFIELD -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. William Hood, 114 Hood Drive, was celebrated Dec. 27 during a buffet dinner at A La Cart Catering.
In attendance were the couple's family, Brad and Joyce Hood of Weatherford, Texas; Evan Hood of Columbus; and Kurtis Hood of Virginia Beach, Va.; and their five grandsons.
The couple will also celebrate the occasion with a cruise to the Bahamas at a later date.
Mr. Hood and the former Peggy Lee Lewis were married Nov. 13, 1954, at Four Mile Run Christian Church in Youngstown.
She retired in 1994 as attendance secretary at Canfield High School and is a member of the Ivy League Garden Club.
Her husband retired in 1983 from his position in accounting at General Fireproofing Co. and in 1999 from Boardman Local School District, where he worked in transportation.
They are members of Old North Baptist Church.
