Springfield Twp. trustees approve raises

NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield Township trustees approved raises for township employees during a recent reorganizational meeting.
Most employees received 4 percent raises. These included police raises given as part of their contract, as well as the road department.
New wage levels for each position are as follows: police chief: $46,280; fire chief: $37,856; road superintendent: $18.75 hourly; assistant road superintendent: $16.64 hourly; EMS coordinator: $500 monthly; police sergeant: $19.21 per hour; patrolman: $16.93 per hour; part-time patrolman: $11.31 hourly; secretary: $9 hourly; road truck driver: $10.90 hourly; police secretary: $8.32 hourly; substitute secretary: $7.28 an hour; recycling person: $8.46 an hour.
At that meeting, Trustee Jim Holleran was elected Chairman and Trustee Shirley Heck was named vice chairman.
