Board OKs used car lot
MINERAL RIDGE -- The Weathersfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals approved a conditional use permit Thursday for operation of a used car lot at 2816 Garland Avenue, Niles, for owners Gerald Kruest and Jonathan Peters.
The car lot will open on U.S. Route 422 at Garland Avenue, on the corner opposite Coates Car Wash.
The owners plan to use a building on the property, where another used car lot had been located, to house its offices and a repair shop for 80 cars.
The board imposed the following stipulations: no wrecked vehicles are to be on the property and all vehicles must be driveable.
The zoning inspector was given permission to make random checks to see if a car that is not driveable is on the lot. If one is found, the vehicle must be repaired within seven days.
There was no opposition to the request at the meeting.
The board also elected new officers for the year, re-electing Tim McNeil as chairman, Ken Rambo as vice chairman and Stephanie Hawout as secretary. Meetings will again be held on the second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m.
