3 men shot in little over 12 hours



The three shootings are unrelated.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jason Hewett, 25, of Woodbine Avenue is in serious condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center after being shot in the back and groin during an argument at 628 Sherwood Ave. around 9:15 a.m. Thursday.
Police found Hewett lying on the porch. He told police that he was shot during an argument by a man with whom he had been playing cards. His wallet with $300 inside was missing. As of late Thursday, no arrest had been made.
In an unrelated shooting, Joseph Benson, 24, of Kendis Circle was shot in his left hip at an apartment on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses said a man knocked at the door saying, "This is Rob," and then stepped aside when the door opened. Another man ran in with a gun and shot Benson without saying a word. Police said they found marijuana in the apartment.
Witnesses told police three men were involved.
Benson is in stable condition at St. Elizabeth's.
Meanwhile, a man pushed out of a car and shot four times in the back Wednesday night in the Dewey Woods neighborhood remained in critical condition at St. Elizabeth's.
Jerome J. Morgan, 29, of Forsythe Street, Girard, was found by police lying on Erie Street around 8 p.m.
