Polivka named board chairman

WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners have elected Commissioner Daniel E. Polivka as board chairman for 2005.
The motion for Polivka was made by the board's senior member, James G. Tsagaris, and seconded Monday by its new member, Paul E. Heltzel; the vote was unanimous.
The board set its regular weekly meetings for 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays on the fifth floor of the county's Administration Building, 160 High St. N.W.
A year ago, Polivka easily won the Trumbull Democratic Party's appointment to a seat on the board.
Polivka, who had been a Warren councilman at large, filled the year remaining in the county commissioners' post held by Michael O'Brien, who stepped down to become mayor of Warren.
In winning the seat beyond 2004, Polivka ran against three opponents in the March Democratic primary. He is well known in the county after 19 years on Warren City Council and has been active in party politics.
