YOUNGSTOWN -- Kara Cooper tossed in 18 points and Beverly Young added 16, leading Youngstown Christian School to a 71-40 victory over Woodrow Wilson in a girls basketball game on Monday night.
Young also had six steals for the Eagles (5-7), who jumped out to an 18-3 lead in the first quarter.
Kara Pecchia added eight rebounds for Youngstown Christian.
Wilson (1-10) was led in scoring by Kesha Letlow, with 20 points and Anique Dunlow with 11.
St. Thomas 53, Mooney 47
LOUISVILLE -- Amber Bodrick scored 20 points for Mooney.
Colleen Zajac added 10 points for the Cardinals (5-5), who led 16-14 after the first quarter, but were done in by a 16-6 deficit in the second period.
Carley Pavlick scored 20 points for St. Thomas (9-5), while Regina DeChellis scored 11 and Courtney Brown added 10.
Salem 60, Struthers 36
SALEM -- The Quakers remained unbeaten behind Katherine McGarry, who scored 20 points.
McGarry also had 11 rebounds for Salem (10-0, 5-0 Metro Athletic Conference), and was 10-for-11 at the foul line.
Sarah Hamilton finished with 18 points and eight rebounds for the Quakers, while Jessica Potts had seven steals.
Struthers is 3-8 overall and 3-2 in the MAC.
McDonald 55, Jackson-Milton 41
MCDONALD -- Sisters Emily and Amy Dolsak combined for 30 points as McDonald claimed the Inter-County League game.
Emily Dolsak had a game-high 18 points and Amy Dolsak totaled 12 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. The Blue Devils' Ashshena Stephens collected 10 points, 12 boards and six steals, and Michelle Krumpak had 11 points.
McDonald (8-4, 4-1) led by six points entering the fourth quarter and closed on a 11-3 run.
Jackson-Milton's Carrie Fiol had 14 points and Megan Whitmer scored 11.
Springfield 58, Western Reserve 44
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Springfield jumped out to a 24-8 lead after one quarter in the ICL contest.
Lindsay Johnson scored 18 points for the Tigers and became the school's all-time leading scorer.
Johnson also had 12 rebounds and four steals.
Samantha Cavalier added 17 points for the Tigers (8-3, 5-1 ICL).
Sara Kutsko led Western Reserve (3-8, 2-3) with 12 points and nine rebounds. Lainey Keck and Alex Rathburn added 10 points each.
Lowellville 71, Mineral Ridge 37
MINERAL RIDGE -- Amanda Nero scored 29 points to help keep Lowellville unbeaten.
Kristen Pallozzi added 13 points for the Rockets (10-0, 5-0 ICL), while Katlin McCarthy had seven assists and six steals, and Sara Porter had eight rebounds.
Abbey Kiger led Mineral Ridge (2-9, 0-5) with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Rachel Siler had 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
Columbiana 50, United 39
COLUMBIANA -- Stacie Cross scored 13 points and Lisa Simon added 12 for Columbiana.
Simon also had 11 rebounds for the Clippers (12-2, 8-0 Tri-County League), while Whitney Goist finished with 10 points and five steals. Krista Johnson had five assists.
United (7-6, 4-4) was led by Danielle Altenhof, with nine points and seven rebounds. Ashley Bergman and Brittany Hoffmeister also scored nine points each, while Darlene Wolf had five assists and five steals.
