Can-recycling drivefor Douglas Coward
WARREN -- An aluminum can recycling drive April 2 at 2488 Parkman Road N.W. (Sorrento Restaurant back parking lot) will benefit Douglas Coward, who was burned last year in a Newton Falls garage fire. The drive will be from 9 a.m. to noon.
A drive for Douglas on Jan. 22 brought in 800 pounds of cans and some monetary donations.

ODOT wants inputon 224 bridge work
ELLSWORTH -- The Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking questions and comments from the public about its plan to replace the bridge on U.S. Route 224 east of Bailey Road in Ellsworth Township.
Comments should be sent by March 11 to Noel Mehlo Jr., ODOT District 4 environmental specialist, 2088 S. Arlington St., Akron, Ohio 44306. Or, he can be reached at (330) 786-4932.
During construction, Route 224 will be closed for a maximum of 60 days. The project, scheduled to begin in fall 2007 and wrap up in winter 2008, will cost $900,000.
