MAC ROUNDUP Miami holds off Wichita State, 65-58

OXFORD -- Danny Horace had 24 points and nine rebounds, and Miami of Ohio held off Wichita State's late rally to win 65-58 Saturday.
Chet Mason added 13 points and William Hatcher had 11 for the RedHawks (17-6), who outscored the Shockers 9-3 over the final 1:27 after Wichita State (18-6) cut a 10-point deficit down to one.
Wichita State never led and missed a chance to go ahead when Kyle Wilson failed to connect on a 3-pointer with 2:01 remaining.
Cent. Michigan 79, Cleveland St. 70
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Kevin Nelson and Sefton Barrett scored 24 points apiece to lead Central Michigan past Cleveland State.
The Vikings (9-14) led by as many as 14 in the first half thanks to a 19-1 run and took a 10-point lead into halftime, but the Chippewas (9-15) hit nearly 54 percent from the field in the second half, while the Vikings struggled to hit just 33 percent.
Central Michigan took its first lead 53-50 with 9:56 remaining on a 3-pointer by Nelson and never trailed again.
Bowling Green 74, Ark.-Little Rock 66
BOWLING GREEN -- Josh Almanson scored 27 points, including two early 3-pointers to spur a fast start, to lead Bowling Green.
Almanson hit 10-of-16 shots from the field, 3-of-5 3-pointers and all four of his free throws for the Falcons (16-7). John Reimold led the Falcons with 29 points. Richard Hardman led Arkansas-Little Rock (16-9) with 27 points.
Toledo 78, SMU 67
TOLEDO -- Florentino Valencia and Keith Triplett took over during scoring second-half scoring spurts to help Toledo hold off SMU 78-67 on Saturday.
Triplett scored 16 points, Valencia and Keonta Howell each had 15 and Justin Ingram chipped in with 10 for the Rockets (13-11), who hit 53 percent of their shots from the field.
Devon Pearson, Eric Castro and Bryan Hopkins had 18 points apiece for the Mustangs (12-11).
S. Illinois 65, Kent St. 54
KENT -- Jamaal Tatum scored 22 points and had an almost perfect shooting night in leading Southern Illinois to a 65-54 win over Kent State on Saturday.
Tatum hit 7-of-8 shots from the field, 4-of-5 3-pointers and 4-of-5 free throws, and added four assists and four rebounds for the Salukis (22-6).
Jay Youngblood and Scott Cutley had 12 points apiece for Kent State (16-10) and Marcus Crenshaw added 10 points.
N. Iowa 86, W. Michigan 75
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Ben Jacobson scored 29 points and three teammates finished in double figures, leading Northern Iowa over Western Michigan.
Jacobson had six points in a 13-1 run that broke a tie at 56 and put Northern Iowa (19-8) ahead to stay.
Ben Reed and Brian Snider led Western Michigan (16-10) with 18 points each.
Drexel 74, Ball State 70
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Phil Goss scored 26 points, including 7-of-12 3-pointers, as a late rally lifted Drexel over Ball State.
The Cardinals (12-11) dominated the first half with superior shooting that put them ahead by up to 14 points before the Dragons began their surge, aided by Sean Brooks, who had 25 points and 10 rebounds for the night.
The two teams traded leads three times in the final 6:51 before a Goss 3-pointer at 4:18 made it 65-63 Drexel as the Dragons (14-10) grabbed the lead for good.
