BOARDMAN -- Plans are being finalized for the Youngstown Symphony Guild's 41st annual Symphony Ball and Auction to be held March 5 at Mr. Anthony's.
The theme for this year's black-tie event will be "Un Bacio dall' Italia" (A Kiss from Italy). Cocktails and strolling musicians at 6 p.m. will precede an Italian-cuisine dinner and chocolate fountain at 7:15. Dancing will follow.
Among the items to be included in a live auction will be the opportunity to conduct the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra at its Oct. 22 gala opening concert for the 2005-06 season and custom-designed clothes by Tom James Clothier. Get-away vacations, sports memorabilia, dinners and vintage garments will be offered in a silent auction.
To attend
To ensure program listing and seating arrangements, reservations are requested by Sunday. Call the Symphony office at (330) 744-4269.
Proceeds from the ball and auctions benefit the Youngstown Symphony Society's community educational outreach programs, performances by the orchestra and maintenance of the historic Symphony Center.
