TAC Third-place LaBrae defeats Girard, will face 1st-place Liberty on Friday

GIRARD -- LaBrae High, with its 76-59 victory over Girard Tuesday in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game, will entertain Liberty Friday night.
The Vikings are in third place in the TAC standings with 10-3 record. Liberty is on top with a 12-1 record and Lakeview is second at 11-2.
LaBrae (15-4) Jumped out to a 24-5 first quarter lead against Girard (4-15) and the Vikings increased that margin to 39-21 at halftime.
Tod Rowan led a balanced LaBrae attack with 20 points. Jason Frederick chipped in with 14. Kyle Rowan and Danny Hartman added 11 and 10 each.
Eric Stevens and Jon Smerchansky paced the Indians with 15 and 13 points respectively.
Brookfield 62, Hubbard 53
BROOKFIELD -- The Warriors (10-9, 5-8) pulled away from a close 28-25 halftime lead with a 18-15 spurt in the third quarter, then sealed the win with a 16-13 effort in the final 12 minutes of action.
Sam King poured in 24 points to spark the Warriors. Corey Richards added 11. Hubbard was led by Marc Kamestsky with 15 points. Dave Ward finished with 13.
Lakeview 76, Champion 54
CHAMPION -- The Bulldogs (16-3) built a 64-39 lead by the end of the third quarter and the Golden Flashes (5-14, 3-10) couldn't recover.
Matt Pytlik and Ed Mackiewicz shared scoring honors for the Bulldogs with 11 points apiece. Mark Jackson sparked the Golden Flashes with 13 points.
