Muskies banquet set
Cleveland Chapter 23 of Muskies Inc. will hold its annual awards banquet and fund-raiser Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. at Roby Lee's Restaurant in Newton Falls.
Featured speaker will be Bob Tomasko, a muskie fishing expert, professional guide and author of the "Learn-A-Lake System."

Three-deer limit proposed
Ohio deer hunters may have the opportunity to take three deer in 12 additional counties this fall under regulations recently proposed to the Ohio Wildlife Council.
As proposed, a three-deer limit (Zone C) would cover 38 central, south, southeastern and southwestern counties. This number represents an increase of 12 additional counties for Zone C. The 30 counties of Zone B would have a two-deer limit, and the 20 northwestern counties of Zone A would have a one-deer limit.
A hunter may take only one buck in Ohio, regardless of zone, hunting method or season.
The youth deer-gun season is proposed for Nov. 19-20. Young hunters would be permitted to bag only one deer of either sex in any county of Ohio. Any deer taken will be part of the young hunter's total season limit.
If the council approves the proposed season dates, the regular deer-gun season will begin Nov. 28 and run through Dec. 4. The archery season will run from Oct. 1 through Jan. 31, 2006. The statewide muzzleloader season will open on Dec. 27 and run through Dec 30.
The special area muzzleloader hunts will be open Oct. 24-29 at Salt Fork, Shawnee and Wildcat Hollow. A change to the muzzleloader hunts at Salt Fork, Shawnee and Wildcat Hollow would make them by special permit only with a random drawing being held before the season for a limited number of antlered and antlerless permits.
Open houses will be March 6 in each of the state's five wildlife districts. These forums will provide public opportunities to view and discuss proposed hunting and trapping regulations with state wildlife officials.
A statewide hearing on the proposed rules will be held at 9 a.m. March 10 at the wildlife division's District One office, 1500 Dublin Road, Columbus.
After considering public input, the Ohio Wildlife Council will vote on the proposed rules and season dates during its April 6 meeting.
