No. 2 UConn routs Quinnipiac; No. 4 Memphis topples Purdue

No. 19 N.C. State handed No. 12 George Washington its first loss of the season.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Hilton Armstrong had a career-high 26 points and Craig Austrie set a Connecticut freshman record with 14 assists to lead the second-ranked Huskies to a 111-75 victory over in-state rival Quinnipiac on Friday night.
The Huskies (11-0) cruised through a seven-game homestand against overmatched opponents winning by an average margin of 39 points.
Rashad Anderson finished with 20 points for UConn, which was without sophomore Rudy Gay, who is nursing a sore ankle. Armstrong was 11-of-14 from the field, grabbed 10 rebounds and had two blocks.
No. 4 Memphis 90 Purdue 70
MEMPHIS -- Joey Dorsey had 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Tigers to their eighth straight victory.
Dorsey was 6-of-10 from the field and seven of his rebounds were on the offensive end. He had three blocked shots.
Chris Douglas-Roberts also had 16 points for Memphis (11-1), while Shawne Williams finished with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-5 on 3-pointers. Robert Dozier had 11 points for the Tigers, whose only loss is to No. 1 Duke.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Joakim Noah scored 18 points and Chris Richard had 13 points and nine rebounds as the Gators (12-0) extended the best start in school history.
Noah, a 6-foot-11 sophomore, scored in double figures for the sixth consecutive game and was the team's leading scorer for a third straight outing.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- James Augustine scored 19 points and his 11 rebounds made him Illinois' career leader. Rich McBride scored 21 points, all on 3-pointers, as Illinois (14-0) won its 14th straight game and finished its non-conference schedule undefeated for the second straight season.
Augustine passed Efrem Winters (1983-86) with his 854th career rebound with 10:51 to play.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Cameron Bennerman led five players in double figures with 17 points and the Wolfpack handed George Washington its first loss of the season.
Cedric Simmons had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks and point guard Engin Atsur tied a career high with nine assists for N.C. State (11-1), which gave coach Herb Sendek the best start of his nine-year tenure.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Brad Buckman returned after missing two games with a knee injury and scored a season-high 20 points to lead Texas.
P.J. Tucker added 26 points for the Longhorns (10-2), while LaMarcus Aldridge had 20 points and 16 rebounds.
No. 18 Kentucky 71, Ohio 63
CINCINNATI -- Joe Crawford and Ramel Bradley had career highs of 23 and 16 points to rally the Wildcats in their annual trek across the Ohio River.
Kentucky (9-3) got little from its two point guards -- Rajon Rondo was 2-of-4 for six points, and Patrick Sparks was 1-of-10 for three.
No. 22 Wake Forest 87,Charleston Southern 47
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Shamaine Dukes had 11 points and tied Wake Forest's freshman record with 10 assists in his first start for the Demon Deacons.
Justin Gray scored 17 points for the Demon Deacons (10-2).
No. 25 West Virginia 80,Canisius 68
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Kevin Pittsnogle scored a career-high 34 points and West Virginia withstood a late rally by Canisius.
Pittsnogle hit a 3-pointer, one of West Virginia's 12 in the game, to give the Mountaineers (8-3) a 28-point lead, their biggest, with 12:54 to go.
