SteelHounds' St. Germain is goalie of week

PHOENIX -- Youngstown SteelHounds netminder David St. Germain and Amarillo center Derek Hahn and have been selected as the Week 10 recipients of the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender and Player of the Week awards.
Hahn continued his torrid recent play with eight points in three contests for the Gorillas while St. Germain made 57 stops in two appearances for the SteelHounds, including a 39-save outing on Dec. 23 to pick up his seventh win.
St. Germain's first appearance came in relief, making 18 stops in a 5-2 home loss to Amarillo on Dec. 22. The following evening, he excelled with a 39-save performance in a 7-1 home win over the Gorillas.
St. Germain has been particularly effective in his last four outings, allowing just four goals while posting a .967 save percentage.
The Quebec native also recorded his second CHL shutout earlier this month, making 21 stops in a 5-0 win at Fort Worth on Dec. 13.
Hahn, currently leading the CHL with 45 points, figured in on eight of the Gorilla's 11 goals last week, twice recording multiple point outings.
He assisted on three goals in a 5-1 home win over Corpus Christi on Dec. 20, then scored his 18th goal and added four assists in a 5-2 win at Youngstown.
Hahn, the 2002-03 CHL Rookie of the Year and a starter for the Southern Conference at the 2005 CHL All-Star Game in Laredo, has registered 24 points in his last nine contests.
