Youngstown man faces drug charges

Wednesday, December 21, 2005

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 20-year-old Harmon Avenue man was hit with drug and traffic charges after speeding away from an attempted traffic stop on the South Side, police said.
Mustafa Musleh was arrested Monday evening on charges of aggravated trafficking in marijuana, fleeing and eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia (scale), no license plate light and disobeying traffic control devices.
He was arraigned Tuesday in municipal court. Bond was set at $35,000. He will be back in court Dec. 28 for a preliminary hearing. Police said they found the scale in the car's center console, 11 packaged-for-sale bags of marijuana hidden in the plastic cover around the ashtray area and $475 in cash in Musleh's pants pocket.
Police first attempted to stop Musleh on East Boston Avenue because his license plate light was not functioning.
Mahoning County Common Pleas Court records show that Musleh was convicted of receiving stolen property and placed on two years' community control, commonly called probation, in April. The arrest took place in Boardman.
