Westminster College ends losing streak

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Three players posted new career single-game scoring highs and Brian Fadden (Mohawk) fell just short of his first triple-double, as the Westminster College men's basketball team snapped a seven-game losing streak Tuesday with a 100-76 win over La Roche.
Five Westminster (2-7) players scored in double figures, led by Chauncey Whitlow (Wilson) with a career-best 22 points. Steve Bielich and Nick Adams added career-high totals of 21 and 13 points, respectively.
Fadden posted 17 points and team-high totals of 11 rebounds and eight assists. Senior guard Mark DeMonaco scored 13 points.
La Roche (2-7) was led by Zack Kostorick with 15 points.
Westminster went on a 33-12 run midway through the first half and led 47-32 at the intermission.
The Titans shot a season-high 53 percent (32-of-60) from the field, including 45 percent (16-of-36) from 3-point range. Westminster also held a 44-32 rebounding advantage.
