Flickers' 60th anniversary is celebrated

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flicker, 861 Marmion Ave., were honored on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary at a family dinner party Dec. 10 at the Stockyard Market in Canfield and during a reception Dec. 11 at Poland Village Baptist Church, where they are members.
Hosts for the dinner were their family, Steve and Beverly Mirich and Dom and Pattie Anzevino, all of Youngstown, and Paul and Janet Moore of Apex, N.C. There are seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren in the family.
The former Margaret Morrison and Mr. Flicker were married Dec. 15, 1945, at Himrod Baptist Church.
Prior to retiring in 1975, Mrs. Flicker was a sales clerk with G.M. McKelvey's and the Higbee Co.
Mr. Flicker was a factory worker with Republic Rubber Co., Division of Aeroquip, before retiring in 1985.
The couple are former members of Gibson Heights Church, where she was a deaconess and teacher for over 30 years and head of free meals for 13 years, and he was a deacon, trustee and elder.
