CAMPBELL Springfield strong in 2nd period

Anthony Warren and Andy Schuler were the Tigers' 1-2 punch in a 34-25 win.
CAMPBELL -- Springfield High scored 21 second quarter points and went on to defeat Campbell Memorial 34-25 Friday night on John Knapick Field.
Anthony Warren rushed for 186 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns, while Andy Schuler completed 8-of-10 passes for 103 yards and two scores to lead the Tigers offense.
Lonnie McQueen scored three times for Campbell as he picked up 178 yards on the ground on 15 carries. He was just 4-of-16 passing though, and suffered three interceptions.
Campbell scored the first touchdown of the game with just 1:07 to play in the first quarter. McQueen scored on a 25 yard run to cap a six-play, 56-yard drive. David Glenn kicked the extra point for the Red Devils' only lead, 7-0.
Tied at 7
On the following drive the Tigers were forced to punt; however, Campbell fumbled the ball back to Springfield. On the second play after the fumble Warren raced 25 yards for his first score. Jonathan Klar hit the first of four PATs and the score was tied at 7.
Campbell was unable to move the ball and punted back to the Tigers. On the very next play Warren scored on a 46-yard run and the Tigers took their first lead, 14-7.
McQueen answered for the Red Devils as on the first play after the kickoff he went 74 yards for his second score. The extra point kick failed and the Tigers led 14-13 midway through the second quarter.
Springfield scored with just seven seconds remaining in the half as Schuler connected with Andy Richey for a 19-yard touchdown reception to cap a five-play, 46-yard drive. The Tigers took a 21-13 lead at the break.
Campbell scores again
Midway through the third quarter Joe Faunda of Campbell recovered a Springfield fumble at midfield. A pass from McQueen to Dominique Lucky moved the ball to the 3-yard line where Jeremy Lawrence scored on the very next play. The pass for the two-point conversion failed and the Tigers remained on top, 21-19.
Andy Richie returned the Campbell kickoff 65 yards to the Red Devils' 18-yard line.
Four plays later Warren scored his third touchdown, this time from 5 yards.
A Richie interception on the next Campbell drive set up the final Springfield score, a 27-yard pass from Schuler to Mike Kampfer.
McQueen ended the scoring as he tallied his third touchdown on a 7-yard run to cap a eight-play, 57-yard drive with just over two minutes to play in the game.
The Tigers finished with 354 yards of offense on 51 plays and suffered four lost fumbles.
They had 15 first downs. Campbell had 330 yards of offense on 49 plays, and lost one fumble and three interceptions.
The Red Devils had 11 first downs.
