Woman shot at during argument at Austintown bar

AUSTINTOWN -- A woman was shot at and pistol-whipped in the parking lot of Chipper's Sports Bar on North Edgehill Avenue, police said.
Police were called after a report of gunfire in the parking lot at 1:48 a.m. Friday. The woman said she was assaulted during an argument she had with a man who'd driven her to the bar.
The man and another woman who came with them left her at the bar and drove away. When they returned, she argued with the man over his having left her, she told police.
The victim got into the car and told the man to take her home, but he got angry and started to pull her out of the car, the report says.
She said she had one foot out of the car and on the pavement when the man shot at her foot but missed.
The victim gave police an address where she'd been with the suspect earlier, and police searched the residence but didn't find him, the report said.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
